    Dicrurus hottentottus borneensis: N Borneo, Maratua and Matasiri islands
    Dicrurus hottentottus jentincki: eastern Java, Bali, Masalembu, and Kangean Island
    Dicrurus hottentottus faberi: Panaitan Island and islands in Jakarta Bay, western Java
    Dicrurus hottentottus leucops: Sulawesi, Matasiri Island (Java Sea), Sanghie, and Siau
    Dicrurus hottentottus banggaiensis: Banggai Islands, off of eastern Sulawesi
