  • Common names: Mangrove jewel bug.
  • Distribution: In Asia, from China and Burma, through Malaysia and the Philippines to Borneo. The easternmost limit of its distribution runs through Halmahera, Sulawesi and Flores.

  • Hosts: Acer oblongum (Himalayan maple), Casearia sp., Excoecaria agallocha (Milky mangrove), Gossypium hirsutum (Mexican cotton), Macaranga tanarius​, Phyllanthus sp., Rhizophora sp., Ricinus communis (Castor oil plant), Santalum album (Indian sandalwood), Xanthium strumarium (common cocklebur)
  • Additional notes: The larvae live exclusively on the mangrove E. algallocha.
