    Dicrurus hottentottus hottentottus: India to Myanmar, n Thailand and s Indochina
    Dicrurus hottentottus brevirostris: breeds central and southern China south to n Myanmar, n Laos and n Vietnam; most of the population migrates south, wintering in Indochina, Thailand, and Myanmar
    Dicrurus hottentottus borneensis: N Borneo, Maratua and Matasiri islands
    Dicrurus hottentottus jentincki: eastern Java, Bali, Masalembu, and Kangean Island
    Dicrurus hottentottus faberi: Panaitan Island and islands in Jakarta Bay, western Java
    Dicrurus hottentottus leucops: Sulawesi, Matasiri Island (Java Sea), Sanghie, and Siau
    Dicrurus hottentottus banggaiensis: Banggai Islands, off of eastern Sulawesi
    Dicrurus hottentottus guillemardi: Central Moluccas (Bisa and Obi)
    Dicrurus hottentottus pectoralis: Sula Islands (Taliabu, Mangola and Sanana)
    Dicrurus hottentottus palawanensis: southern Philippines (Palawan, Busuanga, Mapun, Culion, Balabac)
