Si Lanna National Park

Overnight stay at Mae Ngat Somboon Chon

The lake was created in the mid 80's when a dam was build accross the Mae Ngat River and covers 16 square km. The lake is within the Si Lanna National Park with an area of 1,406 square kilometres,  543 square miles.

Stayed on a houseboat with a small group of friends and appart from a brief trip ashore had no access to land so didn't really expect to get any wildlife pics, nicely surprised with the few creaturs that joined us.

While waiting for our boat to arrive I found this small Lynx spider hanging out next to a cafe.

As the night drew in this Arguda moth species was the first to show up.

Next to make an apperance was this beautiful green moth, Parotis marginata

I think this is probably a Heortia vitessoides moth, attracted by a light on the ceiling.

The first of two Jumping spiders that were on the ceiling hunting some of the hundreds of flies.

Fairly sure these pictures are of 'Brachythemis contaminata', there were many flying around the edge of the lake. There were also a large number of egg clutches on reeds nearby, not sure if they are from this Dragonfly.

These are eggs of Channeled Apple-Snail (Pomacea canaliculata)

One lizzard made a fleeting appearance giving just one chance for a picture

Back on the houseboat this Dragonfly was pearched happily. Possibly newly emerged, no idea of species.
